NASIK: Siblings Prafull and Rajesh Sawant, Nashik’s renowned artists, will represent India in the first international water-colour festival in Albania from November 21 to 25. The Sawant brothers will be attending this conference on the special invitation of Government of Albania, The international water colour society and Wizard international.

“The organisers have invited watercolour artists from all around the world to join the International Watercolour Festival at Tirana, Albania. I am certain it will be a great and unforgettable experience. Particularly the interaction with the beauty of Albania, and its ancient and magnificent culture,” said Praful Sawant.

The conference will be attended by 210 representatives from 58 countries. During the festival, art workshops will be organised along with ‘Painting itineraries and the Sawant brothers will deliver lectures on water colours for the students.

“We are fortunate to be a part of the elite panel of the top eight water colour artists in the world who have been invited to deliver lectures at the conference. We will demonstrate the water colour activity and share our experiences with the delegates,” he added.

A grand exhibition of 400 paintings in water colours will be held as part of the festival in which three paintings by Rajesh Sawant and four by Praful Sawant have been selected. The duo will leave for Albania on November 19.

Sawant brothers are often considered to be amongst the best contemporary water colour artists of our time. Earlier, the siblings have visited China, Turkey, Malaysia, and several other countries as invited delegates for the water colour art festivals. They have developed their own individual style of water colour painting.
